-Obsession- -Disneyland- -Speech-

So I'm sure you've all heard the new Natasha Bedingfield song, "Angel."  I'm completely obsessed with it!  I'm sure in two weeks I'll look back on this post and be soooo over it, but I wanted to get that out there!  Usually when I really like a song I repeat it for days and days until I know every word, beat, note, and (sometimes) harmony.  Then I retire it.

On a totally different note, Dylan & Jaden are going with Grandma (MY mom) and some of their cousins to Disneyland!!  Their first time ever!  They are sooo excited!!!  And of course their tech-savvy selves are on the internet everyday looking at the website and planning all the rides they can't wait to go on!  It's so cute.  I'm really excited for them.  Hopefully the twins and Ella can go soon.  Don't want them to be one of the adults in the world who hasn't gone to the happiest place on earth!  ;-)

On another note on a completely different page, I gave a speech the other day in my Intro to Public Speaking class on....  ready?....  "People I want to punch in the face."   Ahhh hahahaha!!!   And I'm serious, folks!  It was so great!  I got a really high grade (he has never given a perfect grade, go figure) and got no negative comments!!  A first in the class!  So I walked away feeling pretty much like a rockstar....  or speechstar?...

Until next time folks....    Peace.

ER update

Dylan had 3 stitches. :( Poor guy. But he was a brave one. I'm sure the milkshake Grandma got him on the way helped...

A funny story I was told today about the waiting room: Dylan wanted to get something out of the vending machines in the waiting room, so of course G-ma said okay- but no candy bars! Dylan agrees, puts in the money, pushes a button, and down comes.... Mike & Ikes!! G-ma of course looks disappointed, and Dylan responds with, "You said I couldn't get a candy BAR. This is just candy." ....Oh, boy. He's a character.

Back in the saddle [+again]!

School's in!!  And I love it!  I love actually using my brain again!  Not that being a full time stay-at-home-all-day-every-day-mom doesn't take brain power, just not that much.  Muscle memory mostly.  hehe.

I'm taking Anatomy & Physiology, Intro to Public Speaking, and a lame-o computer class just to get in that 12th credit.  I originally had English 101 (yeah, I know...  I'm a Sophomore and I'm finally taking English.  So I procrastinated, sue me.) but I was the ONLY one in my class of 25 that hadn't just graduated high school!!!  That's what I get for taking day classes at a local college.  I'd assume most of them are only there because mom & dad would have kicked them out of the house if they hadn't gone to some sort of school...  So I dropped it.  ;-)  Hey, I'll do it online.  I don't want to deal with that crap.

Hmm, let's see what else....  (thinking...)  My sister-in-law and her boys and 3 cats are living with us for a short while.  It's a little crazy having our 7 and her 4 in the house, but we make it work!  It's actually really fun!  It's like a giant sleep over for myself and my boys!  They of course get to hang out with their cousins all the time now!  They are soaking it up.  It's fun watching them make memories.

Dylan is in the ER as I type right now...  He sliced open his finger when he was playing around our trailer.  It is an old utility trailer and a little rusty, so I hope nothing bad comes from that!  Can anyone say "tetanus shot?!?"  It was pretty bloody (like, gushing dripping blood) but also pretty cool at the same time.  Dang, I should have taken pictures!!  Yeah yeah, I know it hurts-- just stay still long enough for mommy to get a good shot!  Ok, that would be mean.  He was uncontrollably sobbing not so much for the pain, and I'm sure there was a lot, but mostly because he didn't want to get stitches!!!!  Poor, sweet boy.  I'll keep you posted on how that goes.

Here's a fun pic the kids (and cousin) and I took on the MacBook the other day...  We were having fun!   : )

Dylan, Jaden, me, Ryan

Well, I'm sure there was more to type, but I'm beat.  I have to get up at 5 am to get ready for school!  I thought people only do that in High School!!!  Haha.  Oh well, what are ya gonna do??  A girl's gotta look cute.

[until next time....]

~peace~

"I forgot to wash..."

So my kids tend to get in the bath and just start having so much fun "snorkeling" and "swimming" that they forget to touch even a corner of soap. Hilarious!

"Jaden, did you wash your hair?"
"Uhhh....."
"Did you wash your feet?"
"Yeah, smell them!"
"No you didn't!!! Gross! Take another bath in the morning and use soap this time!"

Hahaha. Love it. My kids never cease to keep me amused. They're the best!

So that's the update tonight. I'm supposed to be watching "Zodiac" but it's creepy so I'm pretending like I'm doing something *very important* on the computer so I don't have to look.... ;-)

Wednesday.... again?!

Wow, a week has gone by pretty quickly! I guess I'll have to do Web Wednesday later today. I've been pretty busy keeping up with the kardashians (uh, I mean kids) trying to keep my floors somewhat clean.

Here's the scenario:
Mom walks into kitchen and notices baby somehow has open yogurt container. Baby is tipping said container up like a cup trying to eat/drink yogurt. Mom lets out a "Nooooo!!!", baby scares and spills yogurt all over floor. DANGER!!! Baby is eying yogurt.... (must look like fantastic finger paint!) Mom quickly looks around while guarding yogurt spill so no clean hands can disburse the mess further... No towels.... No paper towels.... No napkins!!! Wait, there's a pair of shorts on the floor! Grab that! Wipe up spill and further drama is quelled. :)

Don't you love when something spills on the floor and you just happen to have a pair of shorts left there by a lazy kid that you can use to wipe it up with??! It makes me feel like it was there dirtying up my floor for a reason... ;) At least that's what I tell myself.

Happy Wednesday, Humpday!! =-) I have Sociology tonight... That should be fantastical fun!! Until next time...

xoxo

✯ My kiddos are driving me crazy ✯

On Saturday it was 82∘outside. Sooo nice.
(Don't mind the Urology sign...) ➠
We went to the Daffodil Parade and had a great time forgetting sunscreen. Oops, I got a little red. Anyway, the kids played and ran and played some more. And with all that energy release + the sun, they slept GREAT.

Then came the next day. It has been cold and rainy again. My kids are confused. Their bodies are in Spring mode, but their shoes are in mud mode. So of course they have to stay inside and they're acting like I'm keeping them from seeing Hannah freakin' Montana right outside or something. I'm just about to send them out and tell them to go mud wrestle and come in at dark. ;)

Any ideas for what to do on rainy/cold Spring days??...

That's all for now, folks. Love it or just come back later. :p

[little birdie feathers]

My 4 year old, Jaden, comes running up to me today saying, "Mommy! Mommy! Kellen took a bunch of little birdie feathers off little birdies and put them on the deck!"

Slightly perplexed/curious I rush to see what is going on and what my 3 year old is up to. I find this:

It was infant cereal flakes.

Comedy. :-)

Kids and OnDemand

I have a six year old who knows how to navigate all aspects of our cable box with the remote. OnDemand is no strange land to him. He knows his way to the kids movies and the kids music videos. Seriously.

**edit- I also have 3 y/o twins and a 4 y/o who navigate the internet as well. Crazy. **

Am I weird that I think that is like some strange sign 'o the times or something?? I know we didn't have cable boxes when I was his age, but I also think if we did, I wouldn't have figured it out.

This is the current favorite to dance to lately:

Funny, right?

He also navigates his way around the web. (only allowed on safe sites, of course!) Techie geniuses the kids are these days.

I'd love to hear your stories of kids and tv/internet! ;)

Until next time....

When mommys blog....

...this is what happens
:-)

Poor Ella. She fell asleep while Mommy was in blogland. And here I thought she was just quite content being so quiet. Precious, that little girl.

{sitting in a coffee shop}

Done doing dreaded Statistics homework.
Done with my non-fat 20 oz. no whip mocha.
Not ready to go home.

Kids.

Sometimes I wonder why on earth I had so many kids. I think someone forgot to mention to me how awful you can feel sometimes. How you can feel like your whole life got sucked out in one ripping motion, never to return again. But that's not the worst part. It's like everyone else's kidless lives are magnified right in front of your face. Like somehow their lives are constantly the top window on your computer screen of life. Just to keep you jealous.

And then your kids tell you they love you. And you melt.

Deep thoughts? No, just the thoughts of every mom out there. ;)

First birthday parties and the like

Soooo.... tomorrow is Ella's birthday party. It's very hard to believe that it's been a whole year. So many crazy things have happened in that year, and I'm so glad she's one of them! ;)

Tonight I'll be cleaning like a mad lady. Laundry, mopping floors, cleaning crusted food off the walls (that my 3 year old twins just love to randomly place in peculiar places), etc... Also, I have two boxes of cupcakes to bake. And frost. And keep out of way of hungry sugar-seeking children.

But it will be fun. Lots of laughs and when everyone leaves, I'll be so glad we did all the hoopla.

Even if she won't remember it. ;)
