Oh, how I love Christmastime!!

It's here! Christmas season. There is so much to love about it!! We {finally} got our tree yesterday and glamorized it. I love that smell. Ahhhh.....

Hopefully I'll remember to post a pic soon.

Fall quarter is officially OVER!!! So exciting!! I love being on break! Grades come out Tuesday, so we'll see how it goes!

I'll be taking A&P II next quarter along with Microbiology... What am I thinking? It'll be nuts, but that's what has to be done! I just put in my application for June graduation, but may have to wait until after Summer to graduate. I'll find out soon.

TONIGHT, SweetKiss Momma is playing the Jimi Hendrix Foundation concert in Seattle. VERY COOL. And yours truly has a backstage VIP pass. (I better, right?!) Local "celebrities" will be there, including Jimi's brother. Don't forget the camera, right? It's a BIG show, and they've got lots more to come!

Done for now. More to come. Until then-

More stupid tooth pain and other miscellany

So the tooth pain is back...  Grrrr.  NOT fun.  That's enough of that.

I really should be studying my A&P homework, but I will later.  That's what I always say.  :-D  School has been crazy lately.  Tons and tons of homework and studying and procrastinating.  I find out soon if I got a scholarship or two, so of course I'm getting super impatient!  Keep checking back, I'll let you know when I hear!!

I gave a speech the other day to persuade the class to be nicer to pregnant women.  I opened with telling a story about when I was 9 mos. pregnant with the twins and in the BX for a day-after-Thanksgiving sale.  I was looking at something and all of a sudden a lady slams her cart INTO MY STOMACH!!!!  Amazing.  I was really really upset and ended up just going home.  It's amazing to me how people are so oblivious to the world around them....

We went to Lattin's Country Cider Mill & farm the other day to get pumpkins.  We also got apples, apple donuts, fresh pressed apple cider (the BEST!!), the best apple fritters in the world, and some people got carmel covered marshmallows (gross...).  It was great!  I love going there.  We've gone there since we were little and now I get to pass that down to my kids!

That's all for now, I guess.  Until next time, folks...

A little sumpin' sumpin'

I am: a mother, a wife, a student, a thinker, a funny crass old woman at heart.
I think: I'm more lucky than I realize.
I know: things suck sometimes, and I'm okay with that.
I want: to be happy just ~being me~
I dislike: hearing peoples' mouth noises... eating, chewing, etc...
I miss: all my friends I've made over the years and states.
I fear: that my children will grow up and realize I wasn't the queen they thought I was.
I hear: my tv blaring in my ears like a dang bullhorn.
I smell: like soap.  Late day showers always do wonders for the mom-smell factor.
I crave: to make a difference in the lives of those who cannot help themselves.
I cry: by myself while listening to sad music.
I search: extensively for all the answers.
I wonder: if I'll ever really grow up.
I regret: not taking English sooner.  Maybe when I was a Freshman would've been good.
I love: my family.  Always.
I care: waaaay too much about my grades.  You know that when you get tears in your eyes because of an 88 on a Chemistry test.  It was the end of my world that day.  ;-)
I always: go in cycles with exercising.  I go two months on, two off.  Haha
I worry: too much about how my kids will behave when they're older.
I am not: a victim.
I remember: when I thought I'd only have two kids.
I believe: that love is a very powerful medium.
I dance: a lot!  I love to shake it!
I sing: when I'm by myself.  Or with the kids cause they only hear an angel singing.  hehe
I don't always: floss.  I've been doing it more and more lately, though.
I argue: too much.  Unfortunately.
I write: only when I want to... hence the English 101 procrastination.  Don't get me wrong, apparently I do quite well in the subject, I just don't like it.  I'm more of a math and science girl.
I win: when I don't expect it.
I lose: my temper quite easily lately.
I wish: I already had an acceptance letter in my hand.
I listen: to the best music in the world.
I don't understand: how some people could treat their loved ones so horribly.
I can usually be found: at school, in the kitchen, or on my computer.  Bad, bad mommy.
I am scared: for my only girl to grow up trying to have a normal dating life with all those big brothers around...
I need: to do my a&p homework.  Lots to do!!
I forget: how much adrenaline pumps through my body when I'm up in front of a crowd.
I am happy: when the house is clean.  Really and truly.  I'm very irritated when there's a mess, which is quite often...  Also, when I get a 100% on a test or a 4.0 in a class.

Ok, that's it!  Tag complete.  First one I've done.  Almost like a myspace bulletin.......??

until next time, folks....

In response to my last post....

Thank you for all the well wishes and uplifting comments.  I really appreciate them.

Buuuuttt.....  for those who haven't read my comments, this is exactly what I'm talking about.  After reading what I last wrote, some ignorant fool had to say this:

"Maybe if you didn't have a freakin' litter you wouldn't hear those comments. Welfare or not, in this day and age it's downright irresponsible. I hope the last one out tied a knot on her way out."
-raul trespasos

REALLY??!!!  That's exactly what I'm talking about!!  It's ridiculous that someone can look at my beautiful children and call me irresponsible!!  I maintain my household and go to college full time AND keep a 3.96 gpa!!!  How ignorant.  I'm appalled  at how some people look at families with more than the 2.5 average and look at them as anything more than wonderful.  I grew up in a family of 6 and I absolutely loved it.  I couldn't imagine a family any other way.

So screw you, dude.  I love my big family and wouldn't have it any other way.  I am who I am and don't forget it.  Oh, and I also have big muscles, so bring it!!!!  Grrrr!!!!!

National Swap Ideas Day.... ??

Huh? That's the most lame-o day I've ever heard of. Well, actually there are worse, I'm sure. But in honor of "National Swap Ideas Day" I encourage you all to swap random ideas I guess. I can't really think of a good reason to make this an actual day, but have at it! ;-)

Here's an idea for you: Use borax with your laundry detergent. You don't have to use as much soap because the borax enhances the soap action. And borax is cheap, $3 or so a box. Happy laundering!

Also, next week is National Balance Awareness Week. Hahahaha. Check for that one. ;) Until next time... Peace.

Okay... back in business

;-) Took long enough, right?? I know. So I have my new layout and I'm not sure about it, but it's way better than the last one!

Here's my update:

Tired.
Sleepy.
Exhausted. (did I miss any?...)

See a pattern here? I guess that's what happens when you have a zillion kids and not enough hours in the day to do everything... ;)

Oh sweet sleep, my long lost friend! You mock me!

Have a good one, guys.

Please excuse my dust...

I changed my layout and completely hate it.

Moral of the story: Make sure you have enough time to create it then fix it. ;)

We'll be back up with a better layout soon. Tonight, perhaps??

♽ Happy Earth Day ♽

For all you treehuggers out there, today is your day!! ;) Actually technically it's the Earth's day, but it doesn't know the difference, so I'll give it to you greenies. Let's all go plant a tree!

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge supporter of all things green and environmentally friendly, but I think lately it's more of a fad and the cool thing to do. It's kinda sad, really. I guess if your need to "be doing the coolest thing" is what gets you to go more "green", then that can only help. My issue is that in a year when everyone moves on to something else, what good will it have done? Really? If you have a strong opinion otherwise, feel free to share. I'd love to hear it.

P.S.- I used to own a green cleaning business, so I know quite a bit about this subject. Soon I'll post a "My favorite green cleaners" post. ;) Look forward to it!

In other not-so-good-news, I had to put my cat down yesterday. :(

VERY sad.

Her name was Naya and she was such a good kitty. Only 8 mos. old, but had Feline Infectious Peritonitis. She was pretty much doomed from the start. Here's a quick pic:

That's me loving on her. ;) She looks a little scared. He he. The vet said to wait at least 6-8 weeks before getting another cat to make sure all of the FIP virus is out of the house. And don't worry folks, it's not catchable by humans.

Okay, I wish you all a wonderful earthy day!

Trying the Haiku

I'm pretty sure the English version of the Haiku is 5-7-5 syllable form, so we'll go with that. Here we go:

once the sun was here
it has now gone behind clouds
show yourself dear sun

;) I wish it were sunny. Obviously.

[ -March for Babies is coming- ]

Help me to help babies!! :) Check out my page and see a picture of my little preemie at 3 days old under the special lights for jaundiced babies. She's got a cool pair of shades on, too. ;)

Please donate! Any and all amounts are welcome and appreciated. Let's help those babies!

Thanks again! xoxo

$3.69 for gas??!!

Okay, I'm reeeealllly chafed with the whole gas thing. In Spanaway (about 10 blocks down the road from my house) there is a gas station selling REGULAR gas for $3.69!! Seriously? How do these grease-balls get away with this??

I am trying to decide which to donate to the black market: a kidney or an ovary. Which will get me more?? I'm thinking use the cash for a gift card for AMPM.... ;)

My new buddy... Gas Buddy! It tells you the cheapest prices right around you! L-O-V-E it.

Hmmm, what else is new lately?.... Lots of studying as of late. Tests, papers, tests, quizzes, extra credit, etc... But I still love college! I feel like a "human" instead of a "mom" if you know what I mean. Parts of my mind are being dusted off and sprayed with large amounts of WD-40 and it feels great! (Tin Man... I feel ya!) I'm a little stressed out with registration, but I'll get around to it sometime. Maybe. Hopefully.

Here's to the night!! Have a good one!

{tooth pain = pain meds}

Pain. Times 10.

I'm talking about that throbbing, pounding, piercing pain you get when the nerve under a tooth becomes exposed. That is the misery I'm faced with right now.

Sooo... I'm writing to you all while on Darvocet and Aleve. I'm a little scatterbrained, so forgive me for that! ;) Hopefully I can get some sort of emergency/feel-bad-for-me-for-not-getting-care-sooner appointment tomorrow. With a little luck. Hopefully I'm the only one in a 20 mile radius that needs an appointment tomorrow. ;)

Funny story of the day:

Dylan, my 6 year old says, "When I grow up I want to be a Doctor so I can make a lot of money and help people." To which my 4 year old, Jaden replies, "Well Mommy, when I grow up I want to be a Crossing Guard!"

:) He's so cute.

Happy [medicated] day!!

2.28.2008

{quote of the day, by: me}

"Why waste your time trying to figure out who you are when YOU are the one who creates who you are. There should be no findings."

Lemme 'splain: If you are spending your time, thoughts, and energy "figuring out who you are," you'll be just that: A person figuring out their place in life.

If you choose happiness, chances are you'll be a happy person.

Just BE. Be you, whatever that is. You don't need a label for yourself. You are already "You." That should be your label.

Sorry if I stepped on some toes here, but keep in mind it's my opinion. ;)

Late evening ramblings from a tired momma. Here's a funny picture to leave you with:

Have a good one! ;-)

{sitting in a coffee shop}

Done doing dreaded Statistics homework.
Done with my non-fat 20 oz. no whip mocha.
Not ready to go home.

Kids.

Sometimes I wonder why on earth I had so many kids. I think someone forgot to mention to me how awful you can feel sometimes. How you can feel like your whole life got sucked out in one ripping motion, never to return again. But that's not the worst part. It's like everyone else's kidless lives are magnified right in front of your face. Like somehow their lives are constantly the top window on your computer screen of life. Just to keep you jealous.

And then your kids tell you they love you. And you melt.

Deep thoughts? No, just the thoughts of every mom out there. ;)

1.20.2008

Okay...

So I'm finally starting to post on this thing. ;)
Sorry!!! Bad, bad me! I'd love to spill my guts out on the page and
ramble about some funny motherly story right now, but I'm just tired.

I'll leave you with a few pics of us lately, though. Until next time....
xoxo
