I changed my layout and completely hate it.
Moral of the story: Make sure you have enough time to create it then fix it. ;)
We'll be back up with a better layout soon. Tonight, perhaps??

weeknight tidbit
The newest in the weekday lineup! It's Tawdry Tuesday!! ;)Keeping the definition in mind, I'll try to grace your presences with the most tacky crap of the week. ;) What a great Tuesday uplift! Here goes this week's tawdriness:
- *According to Merriam-Webster, my go-to guide for words, here is a real word-
- spantabulus (verb) : something wonderful or splended
- that paper you wrote was spantabulus.
*Here is one of the dumbest tattoos I've ever seen. And what a genius place for it. Awesome, dude.

*Another delightfully tacky tattoo. What are these people thinking???....

Saint Canine. Neat. Remind me to get that one.
Now, go out and be tawdry! If nothing else, maybe you've learned a new word today. :-D
I need to go write 50 thousand Biology Lab reports and write a research paper and make 2 PowerPoint presentations. Don't you wish you were in college???
Happy Tawdry Tuesday, all!
xoxo

Web Wednesday
Happy humpday, all! FYI- it just means it's the middle of the week. Not the other thing. ;) I thought I might start posting some of my recent favorites on the web every Wednesday. Hence the term "Web Wednesday." I know, very clever. I pride myself on that.
Old Magazine Covers
Truck Spills - whale
Funny idea
Ctrl vs. Esc
My BIGGEST pet peeve!
Okay, that's all for this week's Web Wednesday. Hope you liked 'em! And don't be shy, I like comments. ;-D

♽ Happy Earth Day ♽
For all you treehuggers out there, today is your day!! ;) Actually technically it's the Earth's day, but it doesn't know the difference, so I'll give it to you greenies. ☮ Let's all go plant a tree!
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge supporter of all things green and environmentally friendly, but I think lately it's more of a fad and the cool thing to do. It's kinda sad, really. I guess if your need to "be doing the coolest thing" is what gets you to go more "green", then that can only help. My issue is that in a year when everyone moves on to something else, what good will it have done? Really? If you have a strong opinion otherwise, feel free to share. I'd love to hear it.
P.S.- I used to own a green cleaning business, so I know quite a bit about this subject. Soon I'll post a "My favorite green cleaners" post. ;) Look forward to it!
In other not-so-good-news, I had to put my cat down yesterday. :(
VERY sad.
Her name was Naya and she was such a good kitty. Only 8 mos. old, but had Feline Infectious Peritonitis. She was pretty much doomed from the start. Here's a quick pic:
That's me loving on her. ;) She looks a little scared. He he. The vet said to wait at least 6-8 weeks before getting another cat to make sure all of the FIP virus is out of the house. And don't worry folks, it's not catchable by humans.
Okay, I wish you all a wonderful earthy day!

Trying the Haiku
I'm pretty sure the English version of the Haiku is 5-7-5 syllable form, so we'll go with that. Here we go:
it has now gone behind clouds
show yourself dear sun
;) I wish it were sunny. Obviously.

✯ My kiddos are driving me crazy ✯
On Saturday it was 82∘outside. Sooo nice.
(Don't mind the Urology sign...) ➠
We went to the Daffodil Parade and had a great time forgetting sunscreen. Oops, I got a little red. Anyway, the kids played and ran and played some more. And with all that energy release + the sun, they slept GREAT.
Then came the next day. It has been cold and rainy again. My kids are confused. Their bodies are in Spring mode, but their shoes are in mud mode. So of course they have to stay inside and they're acting like I'm keeping them from seeing Hannah freakin' Montana right outside or something. I'm just about to send them out and tell them to go mud wrestle and come in at dark. ;)
Any ideas for what to do on rainy/cold Spring days??...
That's all for now, folks. Love it or just come back later. :p

[ -March for Babies is coming- ]
Help me to help babies!! :) Check out my page and see a picture of my little preemie at 3 days old under the special lights for jaundiced babies. She's got a cool pair of shades on, too. ;)
Please donate! Any and all amounts are welcome and appreciated. Let's help those babies!
Thanks again! xoxo

I know I haven't posted in awhile, but.....
I'm sitting here in my usual coffee shop studying Biology (gag-- okay, I actually secretly love it.) and across from me are 4 high school girls studying for one of their tests and they ALL HAVE MACBOOKS. All of them. If I could do it inconspicuously, I'd take a picture with my Macbook and show y'all! Yeah, my Macbook that took until I was 24 to get. And they're about 16. Wow. And just to show me up a little more... They all have nicer & newer cars than I do!!! SERIOUSLY?!!? Who are their parents???
I just want to say that I never had crap like that when I was in High School. I'm not bitter though... ;)
Okay I swear I'll post more later. Lots going on, not lots of time!! ¡Ciao!

$3.69 for gas??!!
Okay, I'm reeeealllly chafed with the whole gas thing. In Spanaway (about 10 blocks down the road from my house) there is a gas station selling REGULAR gas for $3.69!! Seriously? How do these grease-balls get away with this??
I am trying to decide which to donate to the black market: a kidney or an ovary. Which will get me more?? I'm thinking use the cash for a gift card for AMPM.... ;)
My new buddy... It tells you the cheapest prices right around you! L-O-V-E it.
Hmmm, what else is new lately?.... Lots of studying as of late. Tests, papers, tests, quizzes, extra credit, etc... But I still love college! I feel like a "human" instead of a "mom" if you know what I mean. Parts of my mind are being dusted off and sprayed with large amounts of WD-40 and it feels great! (Tin Man... I feel ya!) I'm a little stressed out with registration, but I'll get around to it sometime. Maybe. Hopefully.
Here's to the night!! Have a good one!

[little birdie feathers]
My 4 year old, Jaden, comes running up to me today saying, "Mommy! Mommy! Kellen took a bunch of little birdie feathers off little birdies and put them on the deck!"
Slightly perplexed/curious I rush to see what is going on and what my 3 year old is up to. I find this:
It was infant cereal flakes.
Comedy. :-)

{tooth pain = pain meds}
Pain. Times 10.
I'm talking about that throbbing, pounding, piercing pain you get when the nerve under a tooth becomes exposed. That is the misery I'm faced with right now.
Sooo... I'm writing to you all while on Darvocet and Aleve. I'm a little scatterbrained, so forgive me for that! ;) Hopefully I can get some sort of emergency/feel-bad-for-me-for-not-getting-care-sooner appointment tomorrow. With a little luck. Hopefully I'm the only one in a 20 mile radius that needs an appointment tomorrow. ;)
Funny story of the day:
Dylan, my 6 year old says, "When I grow up I want to be a Doctor so I can make a lot of money and help people." To which my 4 year old, Jaden replies, "Well Mommy, when I grow up I want to be a Crossing Guard!"
:) He's so cute.
Happy [medicated] day!!

Kids and OnDemand
I have a six year old who knows how to navigate all aspects of our cable box with the remote. OnDemand is no strange land to him. He knows his way to the kids movies and the kids music videos. Seriously.
**edit- I also have 3 y/o twins and a 4 y/o who navigate the internet as well. Crazy. **
Am I weird that I think that is like some strange sign 'o the times or something?? I know we didn't have cable boxes when I was his age, but I also think if we did, I wouldn't have figured it out.
This is the current favorite to dance to lately:
Funny, right?
He also navigates his way around the web. (only allowed on safe sites, of course!) Techie geniuses the kids are these days.
I'd love to hear your stories of kids and tv/internet! ;)
Until next time....

{quote of the day, by: me}
"Why waste your time trying to figure out who you are when YOU are the one who creates who you are. There should be no findings."
Lemme 'splain: If you are spending your time, thoughts, and energy "figuring out who you are," you'll be just that: A person figuring out their place in life.
If you choose happiness, chances are you'll be a happy person.
Just BE. Be you, whatever that is. You don't need a label for yourself. You are already "You." That should be your label.
Sorry if I stepped on some toes here, but keep in mind it's my opinion. ;)
Late evening ramblings from a tired momma. Here's a funny picture to leave you with:
Have a good one! ;-)

{parents/divorce, research papers, finals nearing}
*sigh*
My parents. 33 years of marriage. Getting divorced.
How does one deal with that? I'm not sure.
The good and bad news about dealing with it is that I have two research papers due this week (of course I haven't started them...) and I have finals nearing. Lots to do when that is thrown in with my regular routine of raising 5 children. Yikes. I just realized how insane I look to the outsider. :-)
The Blackberry is still my best buddy. My ipod is still regularly in use. Just to update there. ;) I feel like such a techie.
On another note, you'll all have to forgive my blog style. I am still learning how to blog and how to word things that might make sense to some of you. Let me know if you have any comments/suggestions/questions/gripes. I can handle it. ;)
Until next time, have a wonderful week! Wish me luck on the papers!
